Nelson directs Catalysis’ brand strategy and advertising offering alongside Seattle-based creative legend, Matt Peterson. Nelson stays busy most days by helping B2B and B2C brands apply consumer and behavioral insights to improve their holistic branding and communication efforts. Other days, he’s helping to resolve a myriad of ad-hoc marketing fire drills – a fiduciary responsibility that is part of any good long-term client/agency partnership. As 10-year veteran of agencies big and small, Nelson believes that the single greatest indication of a successful brand strategy is one that is executable both outside AND inside an organization. “Because if employees aren’t buyin’ it, customers won’t either.” In a former life, Nelson lived in the great state of Utah, making a living as a ski racing coach, substitute teacher, and river guide. Since those days, he continues to struggle with life on land considering the 1957 wooden boat he lives aboard with his far better half and newborn son on Seattle’s Lake Union.
